Take a Birding Tour, today from 8:00AM-10:00AM, in Great Kills Park, at Crooke's Point, with the Protectors Of The Pine Oak Woods.  View warblers, sparrows, hawks, shorebirds and waterfowl.  The tour is Free.  The Tour meets in the parking lot, at the intersection of Hylan Boulevard and Buffalo Street,( at the entrance to the park) Staten Island, NY.  From the Parking lot, there will be a drive to the nature center where the walk will begin.  For further information, click on the above link.

The 85th Annual Feast Of San Gennaro continues today, from 11:30AM-11:00PM, along Mulberry Street, between Hudson and Canal Streets, and along Grand and Hester Streets, between Mott and Baxter Streets, Manhattan, NY.  Today, there will be a Grand Procession at 2:00PM, featuring, colorful floats, marching bands, musical entertainment and the statue of San Gennaro.  From 6:00PM-  7:00PM,  There will be a warm up for the Cousin Brucie, Sirius Radio show.  From 7:00PM-10:00PM, the Cousin Brucie Radio Show will broadcast live from the feast.  The feast and the above included events are Free to attend

Take a guided Old Mill Road Walk, today from 12:00PM-2:00PM, in Staten Island.  The walk will be led by naturalist, Clay Wollney and will follow the trail overlooking Fresh Kills. View nature and possibly some wildlife.  The walk is Free and meets at Richmond Hill Road and Old Mill Road, Staten Island, NY.  Park on Old Mill Road, next to St Andrew's Church.

The  DUMBO ARTS FESTIVAL will continue today from 12:00PM-8:00PM, and on sunday 9/25/11 from 12:00PM-6:00PM.  The festival features a variety of art exhibits, musical performances, literary readings, video and projection exhibits and family activities. The "Common Ground" Family Festival, will take place today from 12:00PM-5:00PM, in Morningside Park.  There will be Free family entertainment all afternoon, including face painting, balloon art and performances.  Morningside park is located from Manhattan Avenue to Morningside Drive, between West 110th and West 123rd Streets, Manhattan, NY.  This event will take place on the lawn of Morningside Park at 117th Street.

The Broadway Library in Long Island City will Present a Free screening of the film, Garbage Dreams, today at 3:00PM.  The film is a winner of multiple international film festivals.  It is in Arabic with English subtitles.  The film follows three teenage boys born into the trash trade and growing up in a ghetto on the outskirts of Cairo.  The Broadway Library is located at 40-20 Broadway, Long Island City, (Queens) NY.

The Broadway Flea Market And Grand Auction takes Place today from 10:00AM-7:00PM, at Times Square and West 44th Street, Manhattan, NY.  Meet the stars of Broadway and browse or buy such items as, show posters, playbills and other memorabilia.  There will be celebrity autograph tables and a live auction.

Urban historian, Ruth Edbohls will lead The Draft Riots And Gangs Of New York Walking Tour of Greenwood Cemetery, today at 11:00AM.   Learn about this era of New York City's history and the stories of those who lived during this time period, who are now buried at Greenwood Cemetery.  The tour will discuss such individuals as, Horace Greeley, Boss Tweed, The Brooks Brothers, Henry J Raymond, abolitionist, Abigail Hopper Gibbons and legendary gang leader, William "Bill The Butcher" Poole.  The walk may be hilly and strenuous.
