Come to Central park today for the West Side Stories Tour, today from 10:00AM-11:00AM, starting at West 81st Street and Central Park West, Manhattan, NY.  This is a Free walking tour, going through a scenic area along the western edge of Central Park.


Green Thumb will Present Harlem Green 2011: The 6th Annual Harlem Community Gardens Tour.  The Free tour takes place today from 10:00AM-4:00PM, and meets at The Joseph Daniel Wilson Community Garden, at 219 West 122nd Street, Manhattan, NY.  The tour begins with breakfast which is also Free.  On the tour, a variety of herbs, flowers, vegetables, fruit trees and grape vines will be viewed as well as ponds and gazebos.  The tours last stop, at William A. Harris Garden, at 153rd Street and St Nicholas Avenue, Manhattan, NY will feature a traditional Harlem Barbecue.  The barbecue is also Free.

Try your hand at Archery, today at 11:00AM, at Van Cortlandt Nature Center.  Families and Children 8 years of age and older can participate.  Archery instruction is given by trained rangers and everyone must participate in mandatory safety reviews.  All Equipment is provided.  This event is Free.  Van Cortlandt Nature Center is located in Van Cortlandt Park at Broadway and 246th Street, Bronx, NY.

Join the Central Park Conservancy for The Tavern On The Green Tour, today at 12:00PM.  The tour is Free and begins inside the park, at 67th Street and Central Park West, Manhattan, NY. It covers the area of the now closed world famous restaurant, Tavern On The Green. It also covers The Sheep Meadow, The Children's District, The Mall including it's statues and American elm trees and much more.

The Gallery tour at Wave Hill today at 1:00PM, is Free with Admission to the grounds.  The Admission to Wave Hill is also Free Today Between The Hours Of  9:00AM-12:00PM.  Wave hill is located at 249th Street and Independence Avneue, Bronx, NY.  click on the above link for more information.

The Central Park Conservancy Presents Great jazz On the Great Hill, today from 2:00PM-5:00PM.  This event is Free and features some of the best local jazz performers.  There will also be a Swing Dance lesson and a Family Art Activity.  Food will be Available For Purchase.  The Event takes place on the Great Hill in Central Park.  Enter the park at West 106th Street, Manhattan, NY.

The New York Public Library For The Performing Arts presents Silent Clowns: Charismatic Costumers, Free Screening of the 1925 film, The Eagle, Starring Rudolph Valentino.  This is a silent film with live piano accompaniment by Ben Model.  There will be a Q and A after the film by film historians, Bruce lawton and Steve Massa.  The New York Public Library For The Performing Arts is located at The Dorothy And Lewis B Cullman Center, Bruno Walter Auditorium, at 40 Lincoln Center Plaza, Manhattan, NY.

Celebrate Brooklyn will host Dr John And The Lower 911, Chuck Brown and Red Baraat, tonight at 6:30PM.  Gates open at 5:30PM. Admission to the concert is by donation.  Suggested donation is $3.00.  The concert takes place at the Prospect Park Bandshell, located at 9th Street and Central Park West, Brooklyn, NY.

The RTCA Sunset Concert Series continues tonight with Steve Tarshis And His Instrumental Trio.  This is a Free performance, featuring Jazz, folk, Blues And Rock With Special Guest vocalists.  Summerstage Presents The Forces Of Nature Dance Theater, With Cecilia Marta Dance Company And Special Guest: Dancin' Downtown At The Joyce Contest Winner, tonight at 8:00PM, at the Central Park Mainstage.  The performance is Free.  The Central Park Mainstage is located at Rumsey Playfield, near the 5th Avenue and 69th Street entrance to the park.

Summerstage in Springfield Park, Presents "Tunde's Trumpet", by playwright, Chisa Hutchinson.  This is a Free performance about the magical effect of music on a young boys life.  The perform features handcrafted puppets and great music. The show begins at 8:00PM, in Springfield Park, located at 149th Avenue and Springfield Boulevard, from 145th Road and 148th Street, Queens, NY.

Parks' Outdoor Summer Movies will present the film, Despicable Me, tonight at approximately 8:15PM, at J Hood Wright Park.  The film screening is Free.  Bring chairs or blankets.  J Hood Wright park is located between 173rd and 176th Streets, from Fort washington Avenue to Haven Avenue, Manhattan, NY.
