The Great Irish Festival will take Place today, from 11:00AM-4:00PM, along 6th Avenues Between West 42nd and West 56th Streets, Manhattan, NY.  The Festival will feature entertainment, food, crafts, merchandise as well as cultural and corporate displays.  The event is Free except of course for food or merchandise  purchased.


Join Shorewalkers today, at 11:00AM, for the Rockaway Park Beach, Hike And Swim.  The walk takes Place along the boardwalk from beach 116th Street to the end, at an easy pace.  Bring Lunch Water and a Bathing Suit.  The cost of Participating in the walk is $3.00.  The walk will meet at the 116th Street train station.  For further information or directions, Click on the above link.

New York State Senator, Shirley L Huntley will host the 5th Annual Family & Friends Day , today from 11:00AM- 4:00PM, at Roy Wilkins Park.  This is a Free event, hosted in conjunction with Friends Of  Roy Wilkins Park.  There will be lots of fun-filled activities, including, games, rides, music, entertainment Etc.  Roy Wilkins Park is located at Foch and Merrick boulevard, Queens, NY.


Summer on the Hudson, in Riverside Park will host Fly NYC 2011, today from 11:00AM-4:00PM, on Pier I.  This Free kite Festival features workshops on kite making, kite flying, live entertainment and other activities.  Pier I is located at at 70th Street and the Hudson River, Manhattan, NY.  For further directions or information, click the above link.


Summerstage Presents Tiken Jah Fakoly, Meta and the Cornerstones, Los Rakas and Atropolis, today at 3:00PM, at the Central Park Mainstage.                                                                                       Tiken Jah Fakoly is a reggae musician, with music that has been described as politically charged, leading to his exile from several African countries.  He is said to speak out against political and social injustice through his songs.                                                            The Cornerstones are described as fusing Afro-pop, Hip-Hop, Reggae, Rock and Soul into their own unique sound.  
Los Rakas, two cousins who grew up in Panama before moving to California, mix a Panamanian sound with Hip-Hop and Reggae.  Atropolis is described as creating a mix of Tropical/ Global sounds that reflect a mash-up of cultures in NYC.  The concert is Free.  The Central park Mainstage is located in Rumsey Playground at 5th Avenue and 72nd Street, Manhattan, NY.


The New York Mets Vs The Milwaukee Brewers, tonight, at 4:10PM, at Citi-Field, located at 123-01 Roosevelt Avenue, Flushing, (Queens) NY.


The Brooklyn Cyclones Vs The Tri-City Valley Cats, today at 6:00PM, at MCU Park, located at 1904 Surf Avenue, Brooklyn, NY.  There will be fireworks after the game.  Ticket Prices Vary.


Big Screen Plaza Summer Movie Nights  Presents a Free screening of the film, 2001: A Space Odyssey, tonight at 7:00PM.  There are chairs and tables provided for the screening  or guests can bring blankets.  There will be places available for the purchase of food or beverages.  The event takes place at the Big Screen Plaza, located behind the Eventi Hotel, at 6th Avenue, between 29th and 30th Streets, Manhattan, NY.
