Whether You Choose To Commemorate 9/11 Or Do Something
 Totally Unrelated, Please Take A Moment To Remember Those We Lost And Their Families


The September Concert, a tribute to 9/11 and prayer for peace will be performed by 100 members of the New York dance community, today from 8:20AM-8:46AM.  The performance was choreographed by acclaimed choreographer, Jacqulyn Buglisi.  It is a Free performance and will take place at the Josie Robertson Plaza at Lincoln Center, located at Columbus Avenue between 62nd and 65th Streets, Manhattan, NY.

Westbeth Home To The Arts , offers Free Admission to the galleries, during regular hours of operation.  Currently there are two exhibits on display.  The 9-11 Decade -14 Artists Reflect, will remain on display at the Westbeth Gallery Annex, through September 17, 2011.  This is a show memorializing  artists' response to 9-11, organized by Brenda Berkman, a retired NYC firefighter.  To get to the Westbeth Gallery Annex, enter at the 155 Bank Street courtyard. (up the ramp into the inner courtyard and turn right)  These directions are also on the above link.  The exhibit is open Daily, from 10:00AM-6:00PM.
Summerlight 7, currently on display through September 4th 2011, features works from both emerging and established artists. The works displayed include, paintings, prints, sculptures, drawings, photography and multi media.  The exhibit is on display at the Westbeth Gallery, at 55 Bethune Street, Manhattan, NY.  The Summerlight 7 exhibit is open Thursdays -Sundays from 1:00PM-6:00PM








  The World Trade Center Educational Tribute, at Snug harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Garden, offers Free Admission to the exhibit, which is open Wednesday-Sunday from 10:00AM-4:00PM.   The exhibit consists of artifacts, pictures and multimedia displays.  It is surrounded by beautiful gardens, a waterfall and memorial benches.  Snug Harbor Cultural Center And Memorial Gardens is located at, 1000 Richmond Terrace, Staten Island, NY.  For directions, click on the above link.


The New Museum is offering Free Admission all day today, during their regularly scheduled hours of 11:00AM-6:00PM, in commemoration of the tenth anniversary of 9/11.  For more information about the museum, click on the above link.  The New Museum is located at 235 Bowery, Manhattan, NY.

The Loft In The Red Zone, a multi media art exhibit honoring the 10 year anniversary of 9/11, will be open today and every day through 9/31/11, from 11:00AM-7:00PM.  It is described as an artistic tribute, honoring the victims of 9/11, first responders and the people of New York.  Admission is $10.00-$15.00 and proceeds go to The Feel Good Foundation.  This organization advocates for 9/11 cancer victims.  The gallery is located at, 23 Wall Street, Manhattan, NY.

The New York City Fire Museum will have a memorial service today, commemorating the 343 members of the FDNY killed at the World Trade Center on 9/11.  During the memorial service, the bunker coat and helmet worn by FDNY Chaplain, Mychal Judge will be dedicated to the Fire Museum.  The memorial service is open to the public and will take place from 11:00AM-1:00PM.  Admission to the museum will be Free today.  The New York City Fire Museum will have extended hours today, from 9:00AM-8:00PM.  The museum is located at 278 Spring Street, (between Hudson and Varick Streets) Manhattan, NY.

Witness the Monarch Migration At Great Kills Park, today from 11:00AM-12:30PM.  Millions of Monarch Butterflies migrate each autumn and one of the best places to view this marvel of nature is along the beaches of Great Kills Park.  This event is Free.  The meeting place for this event, is in the parking lot of the entrance to the park, at Hylan Boulevard and Buffalo Street, Staten Island, NY.  For further information, click above link and call the phone number listed.

The Queens County Farm Museum, will present the 31st Annual Antique Motorcycle Show, today from 11:00AM-4:00PM.  This event will feature a display of various makes and models of motorcycles, that have been out of production for 10 years or more.  In addition, there will be music, hayrides, and farmhouse tours. Admission is $5.00.  Food will be available for purchase.  The Queens County farm museum is located at 73-50 Little Neck Parkway, Floral Park, NY.

The New York City Police Musem, Presents, 9/11: A Uniform Response, an exhibit of 30 photographs, featuring many memorable images from that day.  The exhibit will be on display through 1/16/12.  In addition, there are two exhibits commemorating 9/11, that are permanently on display at the New York City Police Museum; Remembering 9/11 and The Hall Of Heroes.  Admission to the museum is $8.00 for Adults, $5.00 for Seniors, Students and Children, and Free for all members of service.  The New York City Police Museum is open Monday-Saturday from 10:00AM-5:00PM and Sunday from 12:00PM-5:00PM.  The Museum is located at, 100 Old Slip, Manhattan, NY.  Click on the  above link for directions.

The Queens Museum Of Art, is offering Free Admission today, in commemoration of the 10th Anniversary of 9/11.  Admission is usually by suggested donation.  The Queens Museum is open from Wednesday-Sunday from 12:00PM-6:00PM.  The museum is located, in the New York City Building, at Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Queens, NY.  For directions, click on the above link.


Enjoy a performance of, More Or Less I Am, by the Compagnia de Colombari  Theater Company, today at 3:00PM, outdoors, on the lawn of the Old Stone House in Park Slope.  More Or Less I Am, is a music theater piece, based on the Walt Whitman poem, Song Of Myself.   The performance is directed by Karin Coonrod and contains original music by Colin Jacobson, Kyle Sanna and Eric Jacobson. It consists of spoken word, dance and music.  The performance is  Free.    The Old Stone House is located in Washington Park/JJ Byrne Playground, at 3rd Street and 5th Avenue, Brooklyn, NY.  Enter the park between 4th and 5th Avenues. Grace & Spiritus Chorale Of Brooklyn, will perform a September 11th Memorial Concert, today at 3:00PM, at Saint Ann's Church.  The program will include spoken word, music and video presentations.  Presenters will include elected officials, first responders, authors, religious leaders and community members.  The concert is Free.  St Ann's Church is located at 157 Montague Street, Brooklyn, NY.

Irondale Arts Center, will Present a 9/11 Memorial Concert, today, from 4:00PM-6:00PM, at 85 South Oxford Street, Brooklyn, NY.  The concert will feature a number of organizations, such as the String Orchestra of Brooklyn, The Noel Pointer Foundation,  and Spoke The Hub.  The concert is open to the public and is Free.

 The Tree Story exhibit, continues today, from 4:00PM-2:00PM, at CultureFix, located at 9 Clinton Street, Manhattan, NY.   The exhibit was created by artist, Leila El Kayem.   It uses both story telling and drawing to re- connect city dwellers with the trees around them.  The illustrations from The Tree Story will be sold and proceeds will go to Million Trees NYC.  This is an organization dedicated to protecting the trees in NYC.  It is Free to view the exhibit. 

Remembrance Of September 11, will be held at the Alice Austen House Museum, located at 2 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY, tonight from 5:00PM-9:00PM.  The event is Free and will take place on the front lawn of the house, overlooking the Manhattan skyline.  There will be a ceremony, a water display by a New York City fire boat and complimentary refreshments.


Come to The Moxie Spot, tonight for Family Bingo from 6:00PM-7:30PM.  The game is Free and there are small prizes for the winners.  This event is appropriate for families, with children ages 4-9.  The Moxie Spot is a restaurant and play space, located at 81 Atlantic Avenue, Brooklyn, NY.

St Patricks Cathedral 9/11 Memorial Concert, will take place tonight from, 7:00PM-8:00PM.  The concert is Free and features the Young peoples Chorus Of New York.  St Patricks Cathedral is located at, 14 East 51st Street, Manhattan, NY.

The New York Mets Vs The Chicago Cubs, tonight at 8:05PM, at Citi Field, located at 123-01 Roosevelt Field, Flushing, (Queens) NY.  Ticket Prices Vary.

Habana Outpost Movies Under The Stars, will present the film, The Blues Brothers, tonight at Sundown.  The film screening is Free and there is food available for purchase.  Habana Outpost is a Mexican/Cuban restaurant, located at 757 Fulton Street, Brooklyn NY.

The Tribute In Light, will shine again tonight, from Dusk To Dawn, honoring those we lost on September 11th.  Located at West and Morris Streets, Manhattan, NY, the beams can reach four miles into the sky.  It can be viewed from many miles away.
